CruiseLabs is a Plano, Texas based e-commerce travel technology company that is building the next generation cruise shopping and booking engine and tools for consumer websites, agent applications and third party partner deployments.
v The NexWav application has been featured as a Showcase application for Microsoft Silverlight technology at http://www.silverlight.net (under FunCruiseDeals.us brand).
v Currently have 76 web sites dedicated to particular cruise niche markets, as well as two ‘mega’ sites for cruise information and customer acquisition, http://cruiseadvice.org and http://deckplangenius.com.
v Member of the Microsoft BizSpark program, an incubator for startup companies that allows CruiseLabs fee-free licenses to critical Microsoft products and technologies used in NexWav (including SQL Server 2008, Microsoft Windows 2008 Server, WCF and .NET, Silverlight, etc.)
v Secured direct cruise line connectivity to critical API infrastructure, allowing CruiseLabs to bypass the expensive and less-functional APIs by aggregators and GDS providers. Vocada, Inc. (now
part of Nuance Communications) – CTO October 2000 – November 2009
Technology development, architecture and leadership for the development of Veriphy, a voice messaging and critical care communication system for the health care market. As the first employee of Vocada, was with the company through the sale to Nuance Communications in 2007 and in a consultancy role thereafter through November of 2009.
v Lead the technology group from inception to sale of the company to Nuance Communications for over $20mil. Worked with Nuance technical due diligence team to facilitate and close the sale.
v Delivered the first release of the Veriphy Health Care Communication System within 3 months of requirements completion and evolved the system to be the leading critical test result management system in the health care market.
v Authored five patent applications and received US Patents #7,460,654 and #6,778,644 for Veriphy voice-messaging infrastructure. Worked with Baker Botts LLP, a leading intellectual property law firm in authoring all patents.
v Successfully grew Vocada development teams to include on and offshore groups, resulting in shorter development cycles at lower cost to Vocada.

v Refined the Trilogy “Fast Cycle Time” Process (FCT), which is based on a combination of the Rational Unified Process (RUP), UML, and other methodologies with a business value based approach to requirements management and a fast cycle development that delivers business value quickly to Trilogy clients.
v Worked with Trilogy sales and marketing groups to identify and land new strategic accounts, including technical scope and cost estimation for large project deals for products and consulting services which resulted in $10m in new contract revenue for the company.
fpix, Inc. – CTO November 1997– July 2000
Senior Executive of a Business-to-Business (B2B) e-commerce company tailored to the buying and selling of lumber and building materials among established firms in the forest products industry.
v Created real-time trading system capable of supporting the entire $25B-$30B transaction space within the forest products industry.
v Directed all development methodologies, processes and implementation guidelines. Implemented change control boards (CCB) and customer feedback initiatives to enhance and extend the fpix trading system and network. Process was based on IEEE 12207 and the Rational Unified Process (RUP).
